Who we are
examflow is a product of Folens Publishing Company Unlimited Company (“Folens”, “we”, “us”), company number 58250, registered at Hibernian Industrial Estate, Greenhills Road, Tallaght, Dublin 24, D24 DH05, Ireland. We are committed to protecting your personal data in line with Irish and EU data protection law. This policy explains how we handle personal data collected through the examflow website and quiz.
What we collect on this site
The website collects:
- Name, email address, phone number, school name, hobbies, subjects and levels if you sign up to use examflow. We also capture the hours per week you would like to study so we can create your personalised study plan
- Which year you are currently in (e.g. 5th year / Leaving Cert year), so we can tailor to your stage of study.
- Your study progress per subject including your quiz results, practice paper and past paper results, and usage of the examflow platform. We also log your mood check-ins during your study sessions.
- Your answers to our study-style quiz. These are general questions about study habits and do not reveal any personal or sensitive information about you.
- Your marketing preferences (e.g. whether you'd like to hear from us by email or WhatsApp).
- We collect payment details, only after your 14-day free trial, when you are sign up to an examflow subscription.
We do not collect postal addresses, or any special category data (such as health information) through this site.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technology to understand how visitors use our site and to show relevant ads. We use:
- Google Analytics 4 and Amplitude, to understand how the site is used. These use pseudonymised session data (for example, a randomly generated device or session identifier) rather than your name or email.
- Meta Ads and TikTok Ads, to measure the effectiveness of our marketing. These may receive hashed versions of identifiers such as your email address, used for ad matching, as well as campaign and sign-up information. Hashing makes this harder to read directly, but it remains personal data under GDPR it is not anonymous.
- Cookiebot, our cookie consent tool, which lets you choose which cookies to accept. You can change your preferences at any time via the cookie settings link on our site.
- Typeform, to run our sign-up and quiz forms.

How we use your information
We use your details to:
- Create your personalised study plan, provide your adaptive learning recommendations and allow you to track your progress over time and by subject
- Send you updates about the examflow, and, if you've opted in, exclusive offers and study tips.
- Show you your quiz results and related study tips.
- Understand how people are using the site so we can improve it.
Our legal basis for this is your consent (for marketing communications by email or WhatsApp) and our legitimate interest in running, understanding and improving the site (for showing quiz results and site analytics).
We do not use your quiz answers or any other information to make automated decisions that would have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
We will only send you marketing communications if you've opted in, and every email includes an unsubscribe link. If you've also opted in to WhatsApp updates, you can ask us to stop these at any time by replying to any message or emailing us (see ‘Contact us’ below).
If you have opted in to receive WhatsApp communications, we may send you product updates, launch news, study tips, reminders and other information about examflow. You can withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails, or contacting us using the details below.
Using WhatsApp
If you choose to receive updates through WhatsApp, your mobile phone number will be processed for the purpose of sending you the communications you have requested. These communications are delivered using WhatsApp Business and our communications platform.
WhatsApp is provided by Meta. As a result, your phone number and message content may be processed by WhatsApp Ireland Limited, Meta Platforms Ireland Limited and our messaging service provider in order to deliver those messages. These providers may process personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where this happens, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, in the same way as described for Klaviyo below.
If you are under 16
examflow is designed for students preparing for their Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate exams, so many of our users are under 18. If you are under 16, a parent or guardian must sign up on your behalf, or confirm their permission before you share your own name and email with us — we ask everyone signing up to confirm their age (or parental permission) as part of the sign-up form.
If we become aware that we've collected a younger child's details without appropriate parental consent, we will delete them.
WhatsApp marketing communications are only available where the relevant age and consent requirements have been met.
Who we share data with
We share the minimum data necessary with the following companies, who help us run this site and are bound by data protection agreements or standard contractual terms:
- Klaviyo (our email marketing platform, operated on our behalf by our marketing agency, We Are All Marketing). Klaviyo may store data outside the EEA, including in the US, under approved data protection safeguards (the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses).
- WhatsApp Ireland Limited and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, where you choose to receive communications via WhatsApp. These companies process your phone number and message content to deliver WhatsApp messages.
- Typeform (our sign-up and quiz forms provider).
- Google (Analytics 4, and Google/YouTube advertising), Meta (advertising) and TikTok (advertising) — all receive the data described above. These providers may store or process data outside the EEA, including in the US; where this happens we rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses, in the same way as for Klaviyo above.
- Amplitude (product analytics), which may process data outside the EEA under the same safeguards described above.
Cookiebot (cookie consent management).
We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
How long we keep your data
We'll keep your details for as long as you remain subscribed to updates, or until examflow launches and you either create an account or ask us to delete your details. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see ‘Your rights’ below).
If you have not engaged with our updates (for example, opened or clicked an email) for 24 months, we will delete or anonymise your details even if you have not unsubscribed.
If you complete the quiz but do not sign up for updates, we do not keep your quiz answers on file beyond showing you your results.
Your rights
-You have the right to:
- Ask what information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct anything that's inaccurate.
- Ask us to delete your information.
- Withdraw marketing consent at any time (use the unsubscribe link, or contact us).
- Object to our use of your information where we rely on legitimate interests (for example, site analytics).
- Ask us to restrict how we use your information in certain circumstances.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. Note: at this stage, requests are handled manually by our team rather than through an automated in-app tool — we aim to respond within one month.
