Examflow Terms of Use

1. About these terms and who we are

Examflow is a study and wellbeing platform for Leaving Certificate students. Examflow is a brand of, and is operated by, Folens Publishing Company Unlimited Company ("Folens", "we", "us", "our"), a company registered in Ireland under company number 58250, VAT number 4529899Q, with its registered office at Hibernian Industrial Estate, Greenhills Road, Tallaght, Dublin 24.

These terms apply to the Examflow website at examflow.ie and the services we provide through it (together, "Examflow"). Please read them together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

By creating an account or starting a free trial, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Examflow.

In these terms:

  • "Student" means the person who uses Examflow to study.
  • "You" means the account holder: the student if they are 18 or over, or their parent or guardian if they are under 18.
  • "Subscription" means a paid Monthly plan or Annual Saver Pass.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under Irish law.

2. Who can use Examflow

Examflow is designed for students in Ireland preparing for the Leaving Certificate.

  • Students aged 18 or over can create an account, agree to these terms and subscribe in their own name.
  • Students under 18 may use Examflow only with the agreement of a parent or guardian. The parent or guardian agrees to these terms on the student's behalf and is the person who pays for any subscription.
  • Students must be at least 15 to use Examflow.

If you are a parent or guardian, you are responsible for the student's use of Examflow under your account and for making sure they follow these terms.

Examflow is offered to users in the Republic of Ireland.

3. Your account

Each account is for one student. When you register, please give accurate details and keep them up to date.

  • Do not share your login or let anyone else use the account. Personalised features only work properly when one student uses one account.
  • Keep your password secure. Tell us straight away at support@examflow.ie if you think someone else has accessed the account.
  • You are responsible for activity on the account, unless it happens because of a failure on our side.
  • We may ask you to verify your email address before you can use all of Examflow.

You can close your account at any time from Profile > Plan & Subscription > Cancel subscription, or by emailing us. Closing your account also cancels any Monthly plan, so no further payments will be taken.

4. Free trial

New students can try Examflow free for 14 days. We do not ask for payment details to start a trial, so you will never be charged automatically when it ends.

  • One free trial is available per student, per email.
  • We will remind you by email before your trial ends.
  • When the trial ends, you can choose a Monthly plan or an Annual Saver Pass to keep going. If you do not subscribe, you will be able to access your study plan but no content.
  • We keep your progress for 3 months after a trial ends, so you can pick up where you left off if you subscribe later.

We may change or withdraw the free trial offer for new users at any time. This will not affect a trial already under way.

5. Subscriptions, prices and payment

Examflow offers two ways to subscribe. Current prices are shown on our pricing page and at checkout, and include VAT.

Monthly plan

  • How you pay: Monthly, in advance
  • Minimum term: None. Cancel any time
  • How long it lasts: Rolls on month to month until you cancel
  • Renews automatically? Yes, each month until you cancel

Annual Saver Pass

  • How you pay: One payment, up front
  • Minimum term: Not applicable
  • How long it lasts: Until 1 July, following your purchase
  • Renews automatically? No, the pass will end and require renewal

The Annual Saver Pass price will change during the year, dependent on proximity to the exam.

Payment. Payments are processed securely by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your full card details. We accept debit and credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. We email a receipt for every payment.

Monthly billing. Your Monthly plan is charged on the same date each month as your first payment. If a payment fails, we will let you know and try again. If it is still unpaid after 7 days, we may pause access until payment is made.

Price changes. We may change our prices from time to time. For Monthly plans, we will email you at least 30 days before a new price applies, and you can cancel before then if you do not want to continue. The price of an Annual Saver Pass is fixed once you have paid.

Discount codes. Discount codes have no cash value, cannot be exchanged or combined, and only one may be used per account.

6. Your 14-day cooling-off right

You have the legal right to cancel a new subscription within 14 days of the day you buy it, without giving a reason. The free trial is not part of this period: the 14 days start on the day you first pay.

Starting straight away. At checkout, we will ask you to confirm that you want access to begin immediately, during the 14 days. If you then cancel within the 14 days, we will refund what you paid in full.

How to cancel within the 14 days. You can use any of these:

  1. Emailing us at support@examflow.ie with a clear statement that you are cancelling.
  2. Sending us the model cancellation form in the Appendix (you do not have to use it).

We will confirm your cancellation by email straight away. Any refund is paid to your original payment method within 14 days of your cancellation.

7. Cancelling your subscription after the first 14 days

Monthly plan. You can cancel at any time from Profile > Plan & Subscription > Cancel subscription, or by emailing support@examflow.ie. You keep access until the end of the month you have already paid for, and no further payments are taken. We do not refund part-months.

Annual Saver Pass. After the 14-day cooling-off period, the pass is non-refundable and runs until its end date. We may consider refunds in exceptional circumstances. Contact us at support@examflow.ie.

We will always email you to confirm a cancellation. These rules do not affect your rights if Examflow is faulty or not as described (see section 12), or if we end your subscription for reasons that are not your fault (see sections 13 and 14).

After you cancel. Your progress is kept for 3 months in case you return. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time, as set out in our Privacy Policy.

8. Our content

Examflow's study content is developed by experienced Irish teachers and subject specialists, and reviewed by our team before it is published.

Some features generate personalised results automatically, including Instant Marking. Unlike the rest of our content, these results are not checked by a teacher before you see them. They are a guide to help you practise and build confidence, not an official grade.

Accuracy. We take reasonable care to keep Examflow accurate and in line with current Leaving Certificate specifications. We cannot promise that every question, answer, explanation or piece of feedback is complete and error-free at all times. Specifications change, and some older material may relate to a previous specification. Where it matters, check official sources such as the State Examinations Commission (examinations.ie) or curriculumonline.ie, or ask your teacher.

Spotted a mistake? Tell us at support@examflow.ie. We review every report and fix confirmed errors as quickly as we can.

No guaranteed results. Examflow is designed to help students study more effectively, but exam results depend on many things outside our control. We do not guarantee any grade, points total or college place. Examflow supports a student's teachers and school; it does not replace them.

Independence. Examflow is not connected with or endorsed by the State Examinations Commission, the NCCA or the Department of Education and Youth.

This section does not limit your rights if Examflow is not as described (see section 12).

9. Wellbeing content

Examflow includes general guidance to help students manage stress, sleep, focus and performance during exam years. It is not a medical, psychological or counselling service, and it is not suitable for emergencies.

If you or the student are struggling, please talk to a GP, a school guidance counsellor or someone you trust. Free, confidential support is available any time:

  • Samaritans: call 116 123
  • Text About It: text HELLO to 50808
  • Childline (under 18): call 1800 66 66 66
  • In an emergency, call 112 or 999

10. Acceptable use

Examflow is for personal study. When using it, you and the student agree not to:

  • share a login, or sell or transfer access to anyone else;
  • copy, download in bulk, publish or share Examflow content outside your own study, including on social media or other study websites;
  • use bots, scrapers or other automated tools, or use Examflow content to train AI models or build competing products;
  • try to get around security, payment or access controls, or copy or reverse-engineer the software;
  • submit anything unlawful, abusive, hateful or sexually explicit, or anything that infringes someone else's rights;
  • interfere with Examflow or other users' use of it, including by uploading viruses or other harmful code.

Your answers and inputs. Anything the student types or uploads (for example, answers submitted for marking) stays theirs. You allow us to use it to provide Examflow and, in de-identified form, to improve it. Please see our Privacy Policy for more information.

11. Intellectual property

Folens and its licensors own Examflow, including its content, software, design and brand (the Examflow name, logo and the Octo character). These rights are protected by copyright and trade mark law.

While your account is active, we give the student a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Examflow for their own non-commercial study. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of anything on Examflow to you. Third-party material on Examflow, such as past exam papers, remains the property of its owners.

12. If something goes wrong

We will provide Examflow as described, with reasonable care and skill. If it is faulty or not as described, Irish consumer law gives you the right to have it put right. If we cannot fix it within a reasonable time, you are entitled to a price reduction or to end your subscription and get a refund for the affected period. The CCPC website (ccpc.ie) explains these rights.

Availability. We aim to keep Examflow available at all times, but it may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control. Where we can, we schedule planned maintenance outside peak study times and give notice, especially in the run-up to exams.

Our liability to you. We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for:

  • loss or damage that was not foreseeable when you subscribed;
  • exam results, or decisions made by relying on Examflow content in place of advice from a teacher or professional (see sections 8 and 9);
  • problems caused by your device, internet connection or third-party software;
  • any business or commercial loss, as Examflow is for personal use only.

Where the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under Irish law.

13. Suspension and termination by us

We may suspend or close an account if there is a serious or repeated breach of these terms (for example, account sharing, scraping content or abusive behaviour), if payment is not made, or if the law requires it. Unless the breach is serious or urgent, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right.

If we close an account because of a serious breach, we will refund any amount paid for the period after closure, less any loss we have suffered because of the breach.

If we decide to stop offering Examflow, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and refund any amount paid for the period after the service ends.

14. Changes to Examflow and these terms

Changes to Examflow. We regularly add, update and improve content and features. We may also make changes to reflect new specifications, to improve security or performance, or because the law requires it. These changes will not cost you anything extra.

If a change would make Examflow significantly worse for you (for example, removing a subject you rely on), we will tell you by email at least 30 days in advance. You can then end your subscription free of charge within 30 days of the change and receive a refund for any period you have paid for but not used.

Changes to these terms. We may update these terms from time to time. If a change materially affects you, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change applies. The latest version is always on our website, with the date it was last updated.

15. Complaints and contact

If something is not right, please tell us and we will do our best to sort it out quickly.

  • Email: support@examflow.ie
  • Phone: 01 413 7222
  • Post: Examflow, Folens Publishing Company Unlimited Company, Hibernian Industrial Estate, Greenhills Road, Tallaght, Dublin 24

We will acknowledge your complaint within 3 working days and aim to resolve it within 14 working days. If you are not happy with our response, you can ask for it to be reviewed by Stephen Mault, Chief Commercial Officer.

If we still cannot resolve it, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (ccpc.ie) can explain your rights, and you may be able to use the Small Claims procedure in the District Court.

16. Privacy and general terms

Privacy. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal data, including how we protect students under 18.

Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another company in the Folens group, or to a buyer of Examflow. We will tell you if this happens, and it will not reduce your rights. You may not transfer your account or subscription to anyone else.

If part of these terms is invalid, the rest still applies.

If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.

Law and courts. These terms are governed by Irish law, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.

These terms were last updated on 14/10/2026.
